For ages 11 to 16, Years 7 to 11

Finish a lesson. Get paid. Run a city.

Every finished Maths, Science or English lesson pays into your child's account. They buy a business, take a mortgage, hire staff, pay tax and deal with what goes wrong, and every problem has a cheaper way through that uses what they just learned.

The money is pretend. The sums, and the habits, are real.

No card needed. Parents see every lesson and every pound. Lessons follow the AQA courses for those taking GCSEs.

My city: a 3D cartoon street with a taxi, a fire engine, a playground and tall buildings, the player on the pavement outside Brook Cottage, which is for sale
Rent's in, wages are due Friday. What's left to spend?

How the money works

The city only runs on lessons. No lessons, no income.

1

Learn

A twenty-minute lesson in Maths, Science or English. Levi explains one idea, asks a question and waits for the answer. No answers handed over.

2

Get paid

A finished lesson pays a wage into their account, with a payslip showing tax and National Insurance, and weekly bills that come out whether they like it or not.

3

Run the city

Walk out into My city and decide: save it, invest it, buy a lemonade stand, or put a deposit on a house and find a tenant.

4

Deal with it

A fire, a leaking roof, a tenant who hasn't paid, staff handing in their notice, tax day. Each one costs less if they work it out with maths, English or science.

Everything is marked and paid on the server, so the money is as fair as the lessons. Parents can adjust the amounts.

Money skills school doesn't teach

Practised, not read about.

Payslips, tax and NI

Gross pay, deductions, take-home. They see where the money goes before they ever get a real payslip.

Budgeting and bills

Weekly bills, an overdraft that charges, and a plain page showing what comes in and what goes out each day.

Saving and investing

A savings account that compounds daily, and funds with real-looking charts, wobble, and a profit-or-loss line from what they paid.

Mortgages and rent

Pay cash or borrow. Deposits, repayments, equity, tenants who pay on time and tenants who don't.

Running a business

Staff, supplies, takings and wages adding up each day. Upgrade the lemonade stand or save for the garage or arcade.

Fix and flip

The Workshop buys broken bikes and gadgets, repairs them, and sells them on. Buy low, fix well, sell high.

The lessons behind it

Maths, Science and English, from the foundations up to GCSE.

Levi teaches one idea at a time and asks a question on it. Not quite right? He gives a hint, then another way in. Your child explains the idea back in their own words, then a few fresh questions finish the lesson with no help allowed. Topics are marked secure only when they can still do them a few days later, and earlier work keeps coming back as quick recaps.

Biology, Chemistry and Physics are taught as three separate sciences. English covers reading, writing and the set texts. The course follows AQA, so it leads to the real exams, and there are exam tips, a command words drill and timed practice marked like a paper.

Questions

Is the money real?

No. It is practice money inside the app, earned only by finishing lessons. The sums are real: pay, tax, bills, interest, rent and repayments are all worked out properly, so what your child learns about money carries over.

Is this a game or a learning app?

The lessons come first. My city is the reason to finish them and the place to use what was learned. There is no way to earn without a lesson, and every problem in the city has a cheaper way through that uses maths, English or science.

What money skills does it teach?

Payslips with tax and National Insurance, budgeting and weekly bills, an overdraft that charges, saving with daily compound interest, investing in funds that rise and fall, mortgages and rent including deposits, repayments, equity and tenants, running a business with staff, supplies and wages, and buying broken items to repair and sell on.

How does my child earn money in My city?

Only by finishing a Maths, Science or English lesson. Each finished lesson pays a wage into their account with a payslip showing tax and National Insurance. Weekly bills then come out. Parents can adjust the amounts from the dashboard.

Who is it for?

Pupils in Years 7 to 11, aged 11 to 16. Families use it for home schooling, for extra learning at home alongside school, and for revision in Years 10 and 11.

Is Levi a real person?

No. Levi is the AI tutor in the app, not a human teacher. He keeps explanations short, asks one question at a time, and never does the work for your child. Every conversation is saved for parents to read.

Can it lead to GCSEs?

Yes. The course follows AQA: Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language and English Literature. Levi teaches the three sciences separately, so either the separate sciences or Combined Science route is possible. The Money and Business course itself is not a GCSE.

Can parents see what their child does with the money?

Yes. The parent dashboard shows what they have earned, saved, spent and borrowed in My city, alongside every lesson conversation, the scores and a short note from Levi. Parents can also adjust the amounts paid for lessons.

How much does it cost?

£50 a month for your first child and £40 a month for each additional child, with everything included: all three subjects, Levi, exam practice, My city, Finances and the parent dashboard. Rolling monthly, no contract, cancel any time from the app.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every family gets a 7-day free trial with all subjects, the parent dashboard, Finances and My city included. No card is needed. If it is not for you, the trial simply ends.
